  • EXPOSITION
  • CONFLICT
  • His eye is truly terrifying, I have to get rid of him secretly.....
  • RISING ACTION
  • How awake is he? I must find the best chance to kill him.
  • The narrator lives in an old house with an aged man who had close relationships with him. The man never wronged him, given him insults and the narrator has no desire of his gold, though he has no reason to harm the old man except one.
  • CLIMAX
  • Finally, don't have to see that scary eye anymore!
  • The old man had a pale blue eye of a vulture which the narrator finds it threatening, maybe he thought that if he just digs out his eye, he may report it to police or neighbors; so he planned to kill him and hide his crime. Once his thought appeared, it will haunt him day and night until he does it.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • It wasn't long until the narrator took actions towards the old man, he tries to continuously inspects the awareness of the old man during his sleep for 7 nights. He wants to find the best chance to kill him.
  • RESOLUTION
  • Such a serious crime won't be forgiven!
  • On the 8th night, the narrator sneaks into the old man's room  when it was pitch dark and he is more carefully than before which he determines to take this chance to kill him. He waited for a while until he stifles the old man with the pillow. Latter the corpse are hid under the floor which the narrator nailed.
  • AAAAARHHHH
  • The groan of the gold man getting killed notified the 3 police officers, they came into the house for further investigation. The narrator attempted to make it a perfect trial by placing the chairs for the officers away from the floor covering the corpse and placed his own chair to strengthens the cover, then he convinced them of his innocence by good manners.
  • The narrator thought he heard the beating heart of the old man's corpse, this reminds him of his crime and guilt. The sound grew louder and louder, which he thought that the police already started to suspect (though they're still joyfully talking), and he felt like he had to confess his crime. So he teared the planks and showed to corpse which got him arrested.
