  • Chapter 5
  • "Oh no this is bad."
  • George and Lennie are two ordinary guys running from a problem, when they get away they talk about there dream. George and Lennie symbolize the average person. This suggest that there dream represents the american dream. However the average person wants the american dream but most struggle to get there.
  • Chapter 6
  • "Look down there across the river, like you can almost see the place."
  • Candys dog gets shot because it stinks and its old and they didnt want it to struggle anymore and it leaves Candy upset. We can tell that Candys dog's death foreshadows Lennies death because Candy and his dog are foils foe George and Lennie.  And later on Candy says he should have shot his dog and not some stranger. This shows that friends should look after eachother.
  • Lennie kills Curley's wife on accident by playing with her hair. And because he killed her this ruins there dream of owning there very own piece of land. This shows that our own actions  are our dream undoing.
  • George shoots Lennie because he keeps getting into trouble, and hurts to many things . What Lennie has done they will not accomplish there dream of getting land of there own. This shows that the bast laid plans of Mice Of Men of ten go away.
  • "Lets get that place now."
