Storyboard Text

  • Oh... Ok Then!
  • Atoms are the small particles of matter. These particles have sub-atomic particles which are protons, electrons, and neutrons.
  • Hey Cyrene, wanna talk about atoms?
  • Wait, so how about in an element. Let's say Hydrogen. How many protons, electrons and neutrons are there?
  • J.J. Thomson, Ernest Rutherford, and James Chadwick discovered the sub-atomic particles.
  • John Dalton created the first atomic theory.
  • Democritus was the first one to discover atoms.
  • Wait, why does Hydrogen have no neutrons???
  • Ahhh, so to get the neutrons, you have to subtract. Ohh! Ok!
  • In order to get the number of neutrons, you need to subtract the number of protons and the atomic mass of an element.
  • In Hydrogen, there is only 1 proton, 1 electron, but there are 0 neutrons.
  • Are there any kinds of atoms that are present in an element?
  • Isotopes are atoms of the same element with the same proton-electron amount, but differs in neutron amount
  • There is an Ion and and Isotope.
  • Wait so, what is an anion and a cation?
  • While, a cation has more protons than electrons in an atom.
  • An Anion has more electrons than protons in an atom.
  • Ohhh! Thank you very much Sir Justin! Now I have the knowledge of the atomic structure of an atom
  • No problem Cyrene. Glad that I can help!
