Preparing for a War
After Hitler took over, British and French leaders couldn’t ignore the fascist dictators and had to prepare for war by asking the Soviet Union to join an alliance against Germany.
Soviets agreed to join the west if surrounding countries were granted freedom and if a military alliance were set up for protection from germany, but the agreement never settled.
The Soviet Union and Germany signed the German-Soviet nonaggression pact which created peace between both nations.
