This scene is important to the story "The Indian Cinderella" because this is when Strong Wind's sister takes the chief's youngest daughter to the wife's seat. She gets to sit here because she was the only girl who had spoken the truth about Strong Wind in the village. After this scene, Strong Wind comes and sits beside the chief's youngest daughter and calls her his bride. The next day, Strong Wind and the chief's youngest daughter got married. At the end of the story, Strong Wind promised the girl that he would punish the her two elder sisters for their cruelty to her.
