  • Hamilton's Financial Plans 
  • I will have the debt payed off and build a national bank
  • The Constitution does not state to have a national bank
  • Whiskey Rebellion 
  • I need you and your men to take care of that rebellion 
  • Yes sir!
  • French Revolution 
  • Gentlemen, we will remain neutral. 
  • The French helped us in our revolution why don't we help them
  • But Britain is our most important trading partner
  • George Washington has chosen Hamilton to be Secretary of Treasury. Hamilton plans on paying off the national debt, creating a national bank, and placing tax on imported goods. Jefferson disagrees because the Constitution says nothing about a national bank. Washington influenced Hamilton to these choices.
  • After the Battle of Fallen Timber, farmer’s used whiskey to buy supplies they needed. In the summer of 1794 a group of farmers made the Whiskey Rebellion. The government sent General Henry Lee to end the group of farmers. Washington proved his point about enforcing the law more to end the rebellion.
  • The French was inspired by the American Revolution so they had their own to overthrow their king. After the king was executed they declared war on Britain, putting the U.S. in a awkward position. Hamilton wanted to side with Britain since they were their most important trading partner while Jefferson wanted to crush the French Revolution. Washington declined both of them and said the U.S. would be neutral
