Storyboard Text

  • Election of 1828
  • Spoils system
  • Worcester V. Georgia
  • I rule the cherokee as a seperate nation.
  • The candidates of the election were John Adams and Andrew Jackson. Jackson's stance was that they needed more land and the indians had it so he could take it from them.
  • Indian removal act
  • I will pay you 15 million dollars for your land and you will move west to different lands.
  • The spoils system is when Jackson tried to institute rotation in office. I agree because it helps avoid profitering or funny business.
  • Trail of tears
  • Samuel Worcester was involved and Georgia. The court ruled the Cherokee as a separate nation. I agree because the Cherokee have new land and they should have their own nation.
  • Jackson killed a man in a duel
  • The indian removal act was Andrew Jackson granting the indians land to the settlers and making the indians move out west. Because gold was found in that territory and governments of states wanted that land right away.
  • The trail of tears was the route the indians had to take after getting kicked out of their land and moved to modern day Oklahoma. The trail was hard for the indians because they were moving away from their known land.
  • Jackson and Charles Dickinson had a duel. It started when Charles called Jackson a worthless scoundrel, a paltroon and a coward. After that Jackson challenged him to a duel and Jackson got shot in the chest but, it barely missed his heart so, he didn't die. He then hit Charles in the head and killed him.
