Schools must take steps to ensure all students feel included regardless of their religious affiliations.
Recommendations for addressing the issue include editing the school calendar, educating pre-service teachers on all religions, being understanding of students when absent and allowing them to make up work, continued teacher education, and the incorporation of conversations in the classroom about different religions and their practices.
