Hello! I'm a Ancient Egyptian priest and I'm going to tell you about the the daily life of priests, types of priests, along with their jobs and duties.
The high priest's main jobs were tending to the pharaoh and overseeing religious ceremonies.
There were female priests too but their duties were to oversee temples that were devoted to music and dancing. Female and male priests were said to be equal.
Part of daily life and rituals for priests included bathing in holy lakes multiple times a day, shaving the hair off your body, and wearing special clothes made of linen.
After someone dies, one of the priests most important jobs to to get them ready for afterlife. They had to get their organs out, except for the heart, dry out their body, let them sit for many days, put black tar on them, and then wrap them up into a mummy.
Lastly, the priests would put masks, special jewlery, and other stuff they would need for afterlife and they are ready to be buried.
