  • We hate Christ!!!
  • Children, today we will be learning about Mary.
  • My beautiful boy, you should learn more about our religion.
  •  Once in an Asian town, there was a Jewish ghetto where the Christian minority was treated poorly due to a difference in beliefs.
  • I need even more!
  • In this town, there was a Christian school that taught children about the Virgin Mary and their dues to Christ.
  • Please teach me more comrade!
  • Among these people, a widow encouraged her heavenly seven-year-old son to sing the "Alma Redemptoris", a song praising Mary, causing him to become a more devout Christian as the song gave him joy.
  • Alma Redemptoris!
  • We need to get rid of this child.
  • Although the boy enjoyed learning about Christ and the Virgin Mary, he had no deeper understanding of the language or song considering he was so young.
  • After learning much about Christianity in school, he begged an older student to teach him as he "[knew] little grammar [and was unable to understand Latin" (Chaucer 536). The older student accepted and taught the innocent boy every day until he memorized the "Alma Redemptoris" by heart.
  • Every day, the boy would pass the Jewish people on his way to school and back while singing the new Christian song, which furthered their hatred for him and Christianity. This action led to the Jews wanting to rid of the boy and his beliefs.
