To Kill a Mockingbird: Chapters 12, 13, and 14
This storyboard does not have a description.
Calpurnia had taken Jem and Scout to her church in chapter 12. This is when Calpurnia is criticized by Lula for bringing white children to a black church.
(Lee 119) What you up to, Cal?
When Calpurnia, Jem, and Scout returned home from church, they found Aunt Alexandra on the porch waiting for them.
Have you come for a visit, Aunty(Lee 127)?
(Lee 127) Well, your father and I decided it was time I came to stay with you for a while. Jem's growing up now and you are too. We decided that it would be best for you to have some feminine influence.
In chapter 14, Scout and Jem found their friend, Dill, hiding under Scout's bed. He had run away from his home because he felt unwanted by his parents.
You've got to tell your parents where you are. They must be worried sick about you by now.
I've been under your bed for two hours, I reckon. I ran away, they don't want me around them.
(Lee 140) How'd you get here?
