Jill's comapanions in her journey would be Mandy towards the end, her mother, Ravi, and Dylan. They have all been a huge help, and are supportive characters with her fathers death. They all helped her look at life from a more positive outlook. "Suit or not it's the same person I spent an hour on the phone last night without insulting, demeaning, or dismissing him, and without him solving my bad behavior in my face." page 259
Stories that involve heroes and their heroic journeys are very entertaining to read, they always keep you guessing, you never know what is going to be around the corner. We can connect the hero and their journey to our lives or situations we have been put in, which is ultimately why we read about their journeys. Stories usually make us realize what people in this world are going through. We all have our own fight in life, these stories make us realize ot never take people for granted, because we don't know what they are going through.
The ending was very unexpected, kept you on your toes. I personally would have liked a different ending. We never got closure about Lola's father. Jill however did realize the world wasn't out to get her. This was a great book, had a very strong message. The message was not to push out the people who care the most for you. I really enjoyed this book. It started out kinda slow, but I think that's what really made the book. It had an amazing message. I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a little push in life or anyone who is going through hard times. This book would probably be more enjoyed by females, but it is a good book, there was always a new twist around the corner.
When Jill had to make the decision of Dylan, and Ravi, she was torn. They had both helped her through so much, she didn't want to lose either. Until she realized she could have both... "Confusion about Ravi." Page 272
Lola being born had a huge impact of Jill, she let mos everyone back into her life after Lola came along. Lola was a great thing for Jill, made her realize love in a different way. "In sixty nine days, that will be my legal name. Then we'll get an amended birth certificate for Lola. And she'll be a MacSweeney too. Jill will be my sister. And Robin will be my mother." Page 322
