  • EXPOSITION
  • CONFLICT
  • RISING ACTION
  • In a small village of about 300 people, there was a lottery about to take place. This lottery took less than 2 hours for this town. It was a sunny day with a clear sky, a great day to be outside.
  • CLIMAX
  • Although it was a lottery, the people were not to excited for it to happen, because the winner would get stoned.  The stones thrown at them would probaly kill them to.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • The children are collecting stones and stacking them, trying to find the best ones. The names are being drawn, and every family and hoping that they do not get the card with the black dot on it.
  • RESOLUTION
  • No ones name has been pulled yet, until the Hutchensons pull the black dot. Tessie Hutchenson is very upset because he will have to take the punishment.
  • Bill Hutchenson holds up her paper proving it was her who got the black dot. Everybody gets their stones ready and surrond her.
  • Everyone starts throwing the stones at Tessie, and some of the hit her. Tessie is upset screaming that it is not fair.
