  • How could I gain southern support and make money at the same time?
  • I order the Kansas Nebraska act where the citizens in Nebraska and Kansas vote for if slavery will be allowed in this territory
  • ok
  • C'mon kids were going to move to Kansas to vote for slavery, and don't forget the slaves bring them to.
  •  First Stephen Douglas was running for president and wondered what could put him in position to win. He knew that he needed more southern support. He also wanted to make more money with new land and it could be used for railroads.
  • To everyone in in the North I am nominated and I will be the best possible leader and together we will ban slavery!
  • So he decided to propose something that would gain southern support but lose a lot of north support, the Kansas-Nebraska act.The K-N act basically allowed people who lived in Kansas and Nebraska to decide on whether slavery should be allowed in their territories
  • Buchanan: I dont want to do anything to ruin my reputation.
  • Douglas gain southern support but lost northern support. This caused a lot of people from the south to move to Kansas and Nebraska to try and out vote everyone who didn’t want slavery in Kansas and Nebraska.
  • The south shall not prosper even if I have to bleed in “Bleeding Kansas.”
  • The people from the North then create their own government. Basically, they nominated people to lead against these people from the south who wanted slavery, these people would probably serve as leaders if the south decided to be violent with the people from the North.
  • The leader Buchanan was very quiet inexperienced and didn’t really campaign at all so there was barely any ruling or punishment for either sides.
  • Since the leader Buchanan did nothing, all of the southerners coming up to vote for slavery, the north creating own government to stop the southerners, and Stephen douglas and his political greed, the famous "Bleeding Kansas" was born.
