Children during the 1800's had small access to a good education. They worked all year with low salaries, bad working habits and harsh conditions. They may have read one or two books which counted as their "education."
GET BACK TO WORK!!!
Because of the harsh conditions in the factories, children become sick from diseases and weak from working long hours. Also children improperly use tools influencing many injuries.
Horace Mann recognized all the harsh atmospheres for children and how they had no education and decided to make a change for the better
This is outrageous!!!
Horace influenced free common schools and made education a requirement for all children!!!
This is amazing! I now know how to read and write!!!:)
Children now attended schools frequently, teachers were trained, and kids weren't forced to work instead of building their knowledge.
Thank you Horace Mann!!!
