Cora had lived with her abusive dad who was an alcoholic ever since her mom died in a car crash when she was four.
Then one rainy night, Cora decided to make a run for it. She left town and never ever came back.
She needed shelter, somewhere to spend the night, because she was tired. She knew just the person to call.
That’s horrible, I’m glad you came to me for help.
I need to stay here with you guys, I can’t live with my dad anymore..........
Cora ran to her best friend’s house (Marissa) and told her and her mom everything.
Yea, of course you can stay here, we will get it all sorted out.
The next day, they went to court against Cora’s dad. Marissa’s mom was going to gain full custody of Cora. At the end of the day, it was clear that Marissa’s mom won the case, and that Cora would live with Marissa.
NO, I DO NOT DESERVE THIS!
Marissa and Cora celebrated by the pool, and Cora thanked Marissa and her mom for everything they had done for her. Cora was so happy to be free of her horrible dad.
