  • February 1, 1960 
  • Joseph McNeil, Franklin McCain, Ezell Blair, Jr. and David Richmond entered the F.W. Woolworth store
  •  F.W. Woolworth
  • 4:30pm
  • After these college freshmen bought some items they sat at the "whites only" lunch counter and ordered coffee. They were denied service, ignored, and asked to leave.
  • Whites Only
  • The Greensboro Four stayed seated at the counter until the store closed early. After that, they went  back to campus to recruit others for the cause.

  • 5:00pm
  • 25 men, including the Greensboro Four, and four women came to the store and sat. They were kept busy with school work. They were still denied service. White patrons heckled them. 
  • February 2, 1960 11am to 3pm
  • Whites Only
  • This time they brought 60 student, with one third being women. Members of the KKK were present and white patrons taunted these students.
