  • symbol
  • symbol
  • imagery
  • The bleeding tree: This symbol is symbolizing that doodle dies and his brother( the narrator) finds him on a tree.
  • theme
  • Scarlet Ibis: this symbolizes doodle, this really means that where they found the Scarlet Ibis is where doodle will be found dead.
  • dynamic character
  • Imagery: visually descriptive or figurative language, especially in a literary work. This paragraph describes this imagery because this is when "there wasn't a sound a sound as doodle walked slowly across the room and sat down at his place at the table." Even thought the narrator got his brother to walk and everyone was happy he was crying because the reason why they wanted doodle to walk was different from the narrators pg 355
  • personal reaction
  • I think the theme is to never take for grante of what you have because you never know when it will be gone i say this because the narrator never liked that he had a disabled brother but when he found him by the bleeding tree dead he cried and didn't want it to be true
  • The dynamic character was the narrator, I think this because at the beginning of the story he was ashamed of his brother, doodle and wanted to make him "normal" and said he was a disappointment but at the end when he found doodle dead under the bleeding tree he didn't want it to be true and just wanted his brother back no matter what he was like.
  • I feel very sorry for doodle and doodle family at the end of the story, I think that the narrator is a good brother but at the same thing a bad brother, I think this because siblings will always disagree and get on each others nerves and push them to do stuff even though it might be for their own good but the narrator knew that doodle could die if he kept pushing him,so I have different opinions on this.
