  • Gatsby wants to relive the past .He wants to re-shape what he had already taken place and somehow his future with daisy will happen the way he always believed it would .He believe things will be the exact same way it was back then.

  • " His heart beat faster and faster as Daisy's white face came up to his own .He knew that when he kissed this girl, and forever wed his unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again like the mind of god ".
  • Gatsby feels that he is losing his connection with daisy .He wants for daisy to tell tom she does not love him.He does not believe daisy is getting the message.He is not sure how to make her understand .He really loves daisy and she fails to understand his emotions .

  • Gatsby dreams are too large .He expects too much of Daisy Because of this he can never be fully happy.Gatsby can no longer have such high expectations of Daisy. He has to face the reality that Daisy is human and will make mistakes. He knew that when he kissed her, all the dreams he had of her would become known to her and they would never be private again .He kissed her anyway and felt her unfold at his touch.
