  • Romeo and Juliet are talking in Juliet's bedroom when Nurse walks in.
  • Madam! Your lady mother is coming to your chamber.
  • O Romeo, now be gone!
  • Juliet tells Lady Capulet the truth about her and Romeo.
  • My daughter Juliet, you are to marry Paris Thursday.
  • But mother, I wish to marry Romeo!
  • What is this? No thankings nor no prouds? Out, you tallow-face!
  • They move out into the hall where Lord Capulet reprimands Juliet.
  • I am thankful, father, however I am not proud for love that I hate.
  • Juliet sinks to her knees, hoping to persuade her father for Romeo.
  • Hang thee, young baggage, disobedient wretch! My fingers itch.
  • I beseech you on my knees.
  • Lord Capulet is so hot-headed he threatens to disown Juliet.
  • If you do not marry Paris, hang, beg, starve, die in the streets.
  • Juliet seeks advice from Nurse, but Nurse wants her to marry Paris now, making Juliet feel betrayed
  • Romeo is banished, madam. I think it is best to marry Paris. O, he's a lovely gentleman. Romeo's a dishclout to him.
