Storyboard Text

  • LAN is a local access network. A LAN network is usually confined to one room or building. The LAN network is usually owned by a resident of the house/business owner, they are generally responsible for the hardware, cables and network itself.
  • WAN is a wide access network. They are usually connected by a device such as a telephone cable. The largest WAN on the planet is the World Wide Web.
  • The first idea of the internet was a prototype in the late 1960s after the development of APRANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), funded by the U.S department of defense. The difference between internet and the World Wide Web is that internet is a venue in which the World Wide Web accesses data.
