John Calvin was born on the 10th of July, 1509 in Noyon, France. Calvin was a French pastor, theologian and reformer of the 16th century. John became a law student at the University of Orléans after his father destined him to follow a law based career.
Calvin was always pressured by his father to become a law student like himself, but this was never John's dream. After his fathers death, Calvin resumed his religious studies and devoted his fatih to what he believed God wanted
Calvin decided to adventure to Geneva where he hoped he could join the Reformation and create his own impact on religion. Geneva was still under the impression that the Pope holds power in the Christian Church. Calvin wanted to prove to everyone the way the Pope was using his power, was not the way God had wished.
