Our story begins in Paris around the 1800. A distraught middle class woman sat at home. Wishing that one day she would leave her low income husband for a classy business man.
She came to terms that she was stuck. She would not find a new man to lavish her with jewelry and finery. And it filled her with sorrow. To cheer her up, her husband bought tickets to the grand ball.
To prepare for the event, Mrs. Loisel had bought a brand new gown and had borrowed a gorgeous necklace from a friend. Mrs. Loisel danced the night away at the ball and had the best time.
When the tired couple returned home they realized that Madame Loisel's prized possession was gone. The beautiful necklace disappeared from her neck.
The distressed couple worked at trying to find a necklace to replace it. Finally they found somewhat of a replica and returned it to Mrs. Forestier. But because the replacement cost so much the Loisel's were in debt and ended up losing everything.
They moved into an attic and became peasants to be able to pay off the necklace. For 10 years they worked. Then one afternoon Mrs. Loisel came across Mrs. Forestier. She found out the necklace was a fake...
