Pony, listen you weren't the one with the knife. It was your friend that died in the hospital.
Johnny is not dead.
I had the knife.
Don't ever mention Johnny around him. The doc says he will get better if we give him time.
Randy comes to see how Pony is doing, and how he is feeling about the hearing the next day. Pony is concerned that they will think Darry is not a good guardian, and that he will be separated into a home.
Randy tries to tell him that there is nothing to worry about because he did not have the knife. But, Pony is still getting over the murder and Johnny's death. I do not think Pony wanted Johnny to die as a criminal.
Darry hears this and tells Randy that he better go. Pony overhears him tell Randy that the doc says he will get over it with time.
