  • There has been a division of land! Anyone who would like to move is allowed to do so.
  • Indian Partition 
  • The neighboring village has been attacked and they are on their way here now!
  • Abdul Rehman grew up working in the fields with his family; looking up to his brother and admiring his wisdom. 
  • Indian Partition 
  • There is no one left in this village...move along to the next one please!
  • in 1947 the announcement of the division of land and migration was announced over the loud speaker of  Rehman's village.
  • Indian Partition 
  • One day while working in the field Rehman and his brother received the news that the neighboring village had been attacked and the group was headed towards them.
  • Indian Partition 
  • When the men arrived Rehman hid in the bushes while his brother told them that their village was empty in hopes of the men avoiding it.
  • Abdul Rehman and his brother returned to their town to find it destroyed with hundreds of people dead and houses looted. Over 50 members of their family were killed that day. Abdul would not speak for several years after this.
  • Soon the army came and took the brothers to a refugee camp. After years of moving around  Abdul finally moved to Daultala which is were he still remains today.
