  • France: Change
  • Louis and Marie were not fit to rule and did a lot of deficit spending. The Third Estate was not happy with their voice in government.
  • Haiti: Motive
  • Rioters stormed the Bastille Fortress to try to get weapons. The Guillotine was used to kill many people including King Louis and Queen Marie.
  • Haiti: Method
  • The Declaration of Rights of Men was written, which is similar the the United State's Constitution. Napoleon becomes the dictator of France.
  • Haiti: Change
  • Slaves had horrible working conditions and mixed-race people were considered unequal to Europeans. The French Revolution inspired the salves and mixed race people to revolt and demand change.
  • People petitioned for more equality. Then, slaves starting revolting very violently.
  • Toussaint L'Ouverture wrote constitution making him governor for life and creating equality among people, however he eventually had to surrender leaving Haiti with no ruler. The French were finally driven out.
