Storyboard Text

  • In December 1891 I walked to moose river camp 28 miles from Aitkin.
  • 80% of the trees we cut down were white pine. When we cut them we dumped them down the Moose river to make there way down the Mississippi.
  • Sometimes the logs would get jammed in the river.
  • When the logs got jammed we would blow the logs the clear a path.
  • At the end of the day all the lumber jacks would go back to the camp to eat dinner and play games.
  • When the rivers melt all the log float to the saw mill down the the Mississippi.
