In December 1891 I walked to moose river camp 28 miles from Aitkin.
80% of the trees we cut down were white pine. When we cut them we dumped them down the Moose river to make there way down the Mississippi.
Sometimes the logs would get jammed in the river.
When the logs got jammed we would blow the logs the clear a path.
At the end of the day all the lumber jacks would go back to the camp to eat dinner and play games.
When the rivers melt all the log float to the saw mill down the the Mississippi.
