In 1587, settlers from England come to Roanoke Island. They build homes and catch fish for food.
The settlers grow corn. They start to run out of supplies. They ask John White for help.
John White travels back to England to get supplies. When he returns back to Roanoke Island no one is there. There is no trace of them.
The Native Americans snuck up on the the people of England and killed them one by one. Some people were killed with bow and arrow.
The Native Americans killed young boys and girls. The Native Americans destroyed their houses, so that there would be nothing left!
The Native Americans dumped the dead bodies in the Atlantic Ocean. The bodies probably were eaten by sharks. This is why the people of Roanoke Island disappeared.
