The setting of the story is in a small town called Lydia. The characters of the story are King Midas, his Daughter, His wife, Dionysus, satyr.
One day the king found a Satyr in his garden. He got him to his feet and then told him that he was going to give him back to his master and let him know that he was trespassing. The Satyr didn't want that to happen because his master was a god and he would have gotten in trouble.
Dionysus thanks King Midas for taking care of his satyr and bringing him back unharmed. Then King Midas asks Dionysus for a deal he then agrees and then he said that he would like to have a wish. He then said that he would like to turn everything into gold and Dionysus grants his wish.
King Midas accidentally turns his daughter to gold because he didn't tell here that everything he touches turns to gold. When she got turned to gold he was upset and cried then he went back to Dionysus's palace.
King Midas asks that Dionysus takes back his wish so he tells him to was himself in a river. He then goes to the river and he tells them that this is something that he has to do alone so the guards stayed with at the castle to guard him.
When he got back to the palace everything in the garden was living again. So he ran inside and then he saw that his daughter was living once again and not a gold statue. He was so happy and he learned his lesson about being greedy.
