  • One of the main themes from The Monsters are Due on Maple Street by Rod seriling is Fear and suspition are destructive forces. This is the theme because People on maple street sarted arguing when they saw the flash of light and thought there was a monster. After they all said that there were monsters everyone started to argue. After they were sure there was a monster every one on maple street were all blaming each other for being the monster. This lead to Pete Van Horn being shot because Charlie thought he was the monster. When they really got into the monster thing every one was trying to defent themselfs and not be be blamed. This is also a bed situation because they probably have to live with them for a while after too. This shows why you should never blame other people no matter how much you think they did something.
