  • The Quartering Act of 1765 required the colonies to house British soldiers in barracks provided by the colonies.
  • Stamp Act 
  • Most often, a writ of assistance is "used to enforce an order for the possession of lands".
  • Declaratory Act
  • Parliament passed a modified version of the Sugar and Molasses Act. Under the Molasses Act colonial merchants had been required to pay a tax of six pence per gallon on the importation of foreign molasses.
  • Townshend Act 
  • The Stamp Act of 1765 was an Act of the Parliament of Great Britain that imposed a direct tax on the Thirteen Colonies and required that many printed materials in the colonies be produced on stamped paper produced in London, carrying an embossed revenue stamp. 
  • The American Colonies Act 1766, commonly known as the Declaratory Act, was an Act of the Parliament of Great Britain, which accompanied the repeal of the Stamp Act 1765 and the changing and lessening of the Sugar Act.
  • The first, the Townshend Revenue Act, placed a tax on glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, and tea.
