it was late one night while chief Joseph was sleeping, he heard lots of loud stomping . so he quickly got up to find out what was happening.
so he walked outside to find Nelson E. miles and many soldiers surrounding his camp and demanding that they needs 6 million acres of his land in order to move forward with the gold rush
we need 6 million miles!
At first, Chief Joseph wanted to surrender in fear of loosing his tribe in battle. but his soldiers and many Nez Perce Indians decided that they wanted to fight for their land and fight for what they believed in.
this is the natives land! we reuse to give up our home!
when both sides showed up to the battlefield, it dint take long for the Nez Perce Indians to surrender. they were highly outnumbered and their numbers were decreasing very fast. so chief Joseph decided to surrender and head west.
there are over 2,000 of us!
there are only 700 of us!
hear me my chiefs, I am tired. My heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever.
