Storyboard Text

  • Setting
  • "Goodnight then Rainsford. See you at breakfast." (Connell 20)
  • Exposition
  • "Where there are pistol shots, there are men, where there are men, there is food." (Connell 22)
  • Rising Action
  • "This must've been a dream. But the knocker looks so real." (Connell 23)
  • The setting is on a yacht, passing by an island called "Ship-Trap" Island. The main characters Whitney and Rainsford talk about hunting in the Amazon, then Whiney goes to bed.
  • Climax
  • The story actually begins when Rainsford falls off the boat, loosing his pipe. Then swims to the island where he heard the gunshots and screaming.
  • Falling Action
  • "You'll find this game worth playing." (Connell 30)
  • When reaching the island, Rainsford notices a strange mansion in the middle of the island. He follows the boot tracks until he reaches the steps to the strange looking mansion.
  • Resolution
  • The climax is when Rainsford actually enters the house, and meets a man by the name of General Zaroff. He soon finds out Zaroff hunts people on the island.
  • "But no animal could reason." (Connell 26)
  • Rainsford is being hunted by the general. He hides in trees logs, until the General finds him. He jumps in the ocean to escape. The General later returns home thinking Rainsford didn't make it.
  • Rainsford manages to get back to the General's house and surprises him. They play the game again, but this time Zaroff looses and Rainsford wins.
  • "I am still a beast at bay", he said. "Get ready, General Zaroff."
