Rome ruled the entire Mediterranean world and they took over Asia Minor, Syria, and Egypt. But in the west a general named Julius Caesar ruled most of Gaul. Julius then got murdered in 44 B.C.E. and his nephew, Octavian, became a ruler.

145 to 44 B.C.E.
Octavian or Augustus then made a new territory by pushing the borders back all the way to the rivers so it can be easier to defend.
Alright Augustus, I'll go to get my crew and start working on it.
