The execution of Maximilien RobespierreDiscussion Question: Was Robespierre right to use terror as a way of making France better?
Maximilien Robespierre was using terror as a way of making France a better place. Georges Danton and some other people did not agree with using terror as a way of making France better. Robespierre saw this as a threat to France. Robespierre then decided to execute Danton.
Maximilien Robespierre then made the biggest mistake that he could not take back. Robespierre wanted to remove all of the corrupt from France. He decided to make a list of people he wanted to execute and thought that were corrupt. He announced this to the people and told them that he would announce it the next morning, but upon announcing the next morning he would be taken away and put in for execution for the reason of everyone thinking that they could have been on this list.
Robespierre was then taken away and arrested along with many of his supporters. Many of the revolutionary leaders of France had enough of the Terror he was causing. Robespierre and his men were then executed on July 28th of 1794.
