  • The Wife of Bath has been married 5 times, which allows her to possess the term "Wife of Bath," due to her being married multiple times within the city.
  • She states that King Solomon's example of being married multiple times is positive and is even looking forward to meeting her sixth husband.
  • She points out that although the Apostle Paul preaches on virginity, that God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply.
  • The Wife of Bath truly loved her 5th husband, but he was very disrespectful of her and tried to control her.
  • The husband reads to her about wicked wives every night and she becomes angry, leading to her punching him. He hits her back and she is not happy!
  • After their argument, they reach a truce and the wife gains all the power and dignity back in their marriage.
