  • As invaders enter the body, macrophages, and neutrophils will recognize the invader and destroy them.
  • When T-cells fight the invading virus, it causes damage to the lung and breathing difficultiy.
  • Cytokines and Chemokines instruct the other cells in the immune system to fight the invader.
  • The immune response to the infections causes coughing, but coughing might also cause death when become seriously infected.
  • The T-cells fight the infections and viruses of the flu and cause the lymph nodes around the throat to swell and pain.
