  • 8th century: Ethiopian herder Kaldi noticed his goats became energetic after eating berries from a plant.  He tried the berry. Coffee was discovered.
  • 14th century: Coffee reached the Arabian peninsula. Cultivation began in Yemen and spread to Persia, Egypt, Syria and Turkey.
  • 15th century: The world's first coffee shop Kiva Han opened in Constantinople by the Ottomans.
  • 17th century: Coffee made its way to Europe through Venice. First coffeehouses opened in England and Italy.
  • 19th century: Coffee spreads worldwide. Production booms in Brazil, Colombia and Vietnam. Coffee shops and roasters open across North America, Asia and Europe.
  • Bond Coffee Co is born in Istanbul, Turkey. Est 2017
