Thousands of Spartan soldiers hid inside the wooden Trojan Horse and once the gift was welcomed into the city, they attacked Troy, burning it down. Paris was killed on the battlefield and the star crossed lovers’ story ended tragically.
An interesting story, yes? But true, not likely. Archaeologists have found evidence that the city of Troy once existed.
Paris gave the apple to Aphrodite
The world’s most beautiful mortal woman during that time was Helen. She was already the wife to King Menelaus of Sparta but as soon as Paris arrived in Sparta, he fell in love with her.
Aphrodite stayed true to her promise and caused Helen to fall in love with Paris and compelled her to run away with him to Troy.
Upon seeing their queen gone, the people of Sparta began to wage war on Troy. The most known part of this story, though, is likely the victory of the Spartans with the Trojan Horse.
