Thank you everyone for letting me present my water problem presentaion
Ever since 2007 Djibouti has been suffering from a drought problem considered one of the most water poor countries in the world.
Getting only about 163.5 millimetres of rainfall annually, when you compare that to Britain that gets about 885 millimetres annually. That is a massive difference
Now you may be wondering where or what is Djibouti, well Djibouti is a small country off the Eastern coast of Africa but despite being next to the ocean, Djibouti is a country heavily affected by droughts
The worst affected by this drought have been the approximately 130,000-170,000 pastoralists and/or nomads who live in the rural parts of the country. These nomads live very traditional lives, sheltering themselves in portable huts made of branches and woven mats and living through the herding of sheep, goats, and cattle. However, due to the consistent presence of drought, pastoralists have lost 70-80% of their livestock from a lack of food and water.
If we let the water problem in this country go unnoticed the problem will get worse. Water is a natural resource and we need to help the people of Djibouti
