  • We can declare war now!
  • But its weak!

  • The Constitutional Convention
  • While "remaking" the Articles, the delegates made a deal known as the 3/5 Compromise to settle the dispute between the northern and southern states, and another deal known as the Great Compromise that disputed the the conflict between large and small states' population.
  • Hmph.

  •    The Influences of American Government
  • The Mayflower Compact was one of the documents that influenced America.
  • The Federalists papers were written to convince people that the Constitution was good.

  • The Magna Carta was signed by the king to limit his power which influenced the founding fathers.
  • The Anti-Federalist Writings argued against the Constitution.

  • The Articles of Confederation was mostly a weak document. It didn't give us many advantages, which lead to protesting. They made it weak so the national government didn't have power and the states would be independent, which backfired.

  • The Convention was held because the Articles were weak, and instead of fixing it, they came up with an entire new document, which was the Constitution. But because of this, they were arguing for a long time trying to decide what to do.

  • The influences of American Government consists of important documents throughtout the years.

  • The 4th Amendment states no search/seizure without a warrant.
  • The Federalists were people who agreed with the Constitution and Anti-federalists were people who didn't.  Which led to protesting.

  • The 5th Amendment prohibits self-incrimination.
  • The 6th gives us the right to an attorney and a fair trial.
