Storyboard Text

  • ELISE: Many years later...
  • And really mind those p's and q's when they come over...
  • Uncle Franklin and Auntie Caroline
  • These are my charming kids, Lana and Timmy, ages 10 and 7...
  • Say hi to your auntie Caroline and uncle Franklin!
  • Caroline, Elise, and the eight keys conversation
  • Tell them!
  • About the keys!
  • Tell them what?
  • Many years after Elise is 12... Elise Bertrand is now an adult and has kids. She is in her childhood home, the house of her aunt and uncle (who are probably dead by now; they were pretty old in the book). Franklin and Caroline, Elise's childhood friends, are about to come over for the first time.
  • Minutes later...
  • WHAT THE HECK ARE THOSE???
  • Caroline and Franklin are standing in the door. They are called auntie and uncle because the three of them were as close as siblings when they were kids. Caroline is dressed all fancy, even though she ditched her mean (but pretty) friend. Lana and Timmy were what I thought Elise would probably name her kids.
  • Ava's idea of fun
  • Since Caroline went in the locked rooms with Elise more than Franklin (even though Franklin knew about the keys first), they are whispering in the foyer to tell Timmy and Lana about the keys.
  • The place is now messed up
  • Oh well... Your grandpa wanted me to fill up this room... I guess it could be carried on through generations...
  • In the book Eight Keys, Ava was Aunt Bessie's neice on the other side. She was a baby back then. Now she is older.I put her in brightly colored clothes because she's happy and innocent. As for the room, I made square textables for picture frames and Elise's cooking notebook. I also made one for the list on why she's glad to be Elise Bertrand, and the feathers are supposed to be keys.
  • ELISE'S RECIPIES
  • Hi I'm Ava!!! I'm your mother's cousin & I was just a baby when she found the 8 keys. LET'S HAVE FUN!!!!
  • 10 REASONS I AM GLAD TO BE ELISE BERTRAND
  • When Elise's kids and Ava play, the walls get messed up.Timmy is supposed to be swinging from the keys, and Lana is upside down! (The blue picture frame, by the way, is Elise and Franklin as kids, and the gray one is Caroline and Elise.)
  • 10 REASONS I AM GLAD TO BE ELISE BERTRAND
  • NO DON'T! DON'T SWING FROM THAT!! YOU'RE BREAKING THE WALL!!!
  • ELISE'S RECIPIES
  • Elise's father, John Bertrand, really did want Elise to fill up that room, which was originally empty. Eight Keys, by the way, was a man vs self story, as Elise thought she was the worst friend ever (but also man vs man because a mean girl always squashed her lunch). The theme is your life is what you make it, and also you are always loved by somebody.
