The United States Constitution
The Constitution is a document written in 1787, that is the most highest law the states could abide by with a series of other laws that follow behind it.
The Constitution is responsible for making the country run and having a President, Supreme Court and Congress.
Ten laws or changes known as the Bill of Rights being the first 10 amendments were added to the Constitution so the citizens would be able to follow them when needed. There 27 amendments in all with the last one coming into effect in the late 90's.
The Constitution is the document that paved the way for the United States to be governed as it is now. It gives their citizens a say in what they want from the government and how to go about getting it done.
