Your son received an IQ score of 132. In addition, we reviewed teacher checklists that showed gifted characteristics. Based off of this information your child meets eligibility for gifted services.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the gifted evaluation for your child.
Yay, that sounds so amazing! What do the services look like here at the school?
Your child will receive gifted pull out services once a week for 2 1/2 hours. As well as receive push in services for one hour a week. Your child’s teacher will plan accordingly with the gifted teacher to make sure your child is receiving differentiated instruction on their academics.
My child seems to process things very quickly and gets bored currently in class. How will this help?
Your child’s approach to learning will be focused around the seven gifted goals. These goals are very broad in nature but allow for a very flexible learning style as well as opportunities for research and exploration on various academic topics and interests. Your child will work on thinking strategies to help process knew and challenging information as well as dig deeper on familiar concepts.
That sounds like just what my child needs. Thanks for all the academic support, I look forward to working with you in the future.
