Storyboard Text

  • Person vs. Person
  • You know what a Greaser is? White trash with long, greasy hair!
  • Person vs. Self
  • Someone should really tell Bob to stop being violent.
  • Can't wait to go jump one of those greasers!
  • Person vs. Society
  • "Greasers: A Disgrace to Society?!"
  • There is a conflict between the Socs and the Greasers. The Socs are rich kids who get everything they want and always get off easy. The Greasers are poor and have rough lives. The Socs often jump Greasers and fight with them. Johnny killed a Soc, so now there is an even bigger rivalry between the Socs and the Greasers.
  • Bob is one of the leaders of the Socs. He jumped Johnny and tried to drown Ponyboy. After Johnny killed Bob, Randy (Bob's friend) said that Bob was too spoiled. He said that the reason he died is because nobody ever told him "no." Bob is having conflict with himself because he isn't able to control himself, which leads to his death.
  • Greasers have a bad reputation with society. Every time they do the slightest thing, the word is spread to the public. Many people of society stereotype Greasers and believe that they are bad. Ponyboy stated in the book that sometimes people will yell "Greaser!" in a mockingly way when they see Greasers walking on the street.
