  •  Abraham Lincoln was elected in 1860 one year before the civil war. 
  • Civil War Weapons
  • The battle of Fort Sumter was fought in South Caroline in 1861 and it was the being of the American civil war.  
  • Emancipation Proclamation
  • On the Confederate, it was Robert E. Lee. On the Union, it was Ulysses.
  • The South Surrenders
  •  These weapons include edged weapons such as knives and swords, firearms such as, rifled-muskets, breech loaders and repeating weapons, various field guns such as artillery, and new weapons such as the early grenade and machine gun.
  • The Emancipation Proclamation, or Proclamation 95, was a presidential proclamation and executive order issued by U.S. President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863.
  • At Appomattox, Virginia, Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrenders his 28,000 troops to Union General Ulysses S. Grant, effectively ending the American Civil War.On April 9, Lee sent a message to Grant announcing his willingness to surrender.
