Emma and Jacob had ran up to the lighthouse, and started up the stairs. After getting the wight's gun they rushed up the stairs as fast as they would allow. They cornered the wight and finally the wight was shot and killed. The birds had been thrown to the ocean so they rushed down to save them.
There are few symbols in the story but the two that stick out are the peregrine bird and the house. The house symbolizes the loop and all of the people that it sheltered. The bird also symbolizes the loop, as well as Miss Peregrine the tendent to the loop.
The wight was killed. The others were on the beach wasted, when a submarine popped out of the ocean and the wights aboard took Miss crow leaving Miss Peregrine because of her broken wing. Jacob and Emma got to her and saved her from the water, wondering what they were going to do next.
