Storyboard Text

  • exposition and conflict 
  • The narrator has derision for the old man because of his vulture eye. He said it vexed him. and it made him " very, very dreadfully nervous."
  • rising action 
  • He stealthily watched him every night when he was sleeping for 7 days. But he figuered it was time he "went to work." 
  • On night 7, he walked up to his room as he "kept quiet, not moving a muscle.
  • climax
  • He was awake and confused on what was happening because it was to dark to see if someone was in the room.  The narrator still thinks "one of his eyes resembles of a vulture".
  • Climax continued
  • "he was stone dead, stone dead"
  • falling action
  • Then he killed the man and cut off his arms and legs and put him in the floorboards of his house.  Then he "replaced the boards so cleverly".
  • The cops showed up and wanted to talk to the narrator and he admitted to killing him. He said " here's the beating of his hideous heart,"
