Storyboard Text

  • Sometimes my writing fills every single border in every single page and I can't keep track of all my thoughts. My little notes in black writing demonstrate my frustrations towards writers like Kierkegaard and Conor Cruise O'Brien. But some of my comments are more silly like "Please!" or "Ha!". I just wish sometimes my thoughts would make sense!
  • Contrary to myself, students thoughts are a little more controlled than mine. They write things like "Metaphor" or "Irony" 50 times next to stanzas. They can also be that person who writes check marks, or exclamation points down the sides of the book.
  • If you are a college graduate and you have not yet written "Man vs. Nature" in a margin then it is time to step out of the box expand your thoughts. We as readers have all taken over the perimeters and written things to prove we weren't mindlessly flipping through the pages. We want to provide our thoughts and leave an impression on how we really feel in the margins.
  • Irish Monks spent countless hours rewriting full texts, making notes along the sides about the struggles of copying, while the sunlight beamed down on their pages. The monks we're devoted to something that lasted longer than themselves. And you have not truly read Joshua Reynolds without wrapping your mind around Blake's furious scribbling.
  • The thing I think of most often that I can't seem to grasp on to was written in the book Catcher in the Rye, which I borrowed from the local library. High school just began and I was readings books in my parents' living room, only then realizing how deep my loneliness was when i ran across one page. I realized my feelings for the world I lived in were an intense sadness. Next to a few greasy stains, written by a beautiful girl, from what I could tell who I would never meet said ,"Pardon the egg salad stains, but I'm in love."
