The Masque of the Red Death
The Red Death had long devastated the country, but Prince Prospero was happy because he invited 1,000 of his friends to stay secluded from the plague in his castle.
Prince Prospero held a Masquerade for his guests on the fifth or sixth month of seclusion to entertain them, relieve their boredom, and distract them from the situation of the outside world.
Prince Prospero and his guests felt terror, horror, and disgust when a masked figure, who wasn't noticed before showed up. Prince Prospero became furious and followed the figure to confront him.
When the prince confronted the figure, it turned around and looked at him, which caused the prince's immediate death. The guests were horrified.
The figure vanished, but left his clothes behind. The guests died soon after from the Red Death.
